Imagine a deep forest hushed in peace, save for the chorus of birds.
A canopy of emerald green for as far as the eye can behold. Imagine all this then imagine no more. Let your dreams sweep you away to one of Canada's legendary vacation retreats -- Terratima Lodge in all its bounty -- as big and bold as adventure can get, and as close to peaceful as you want to be.
Your day at Terratima commences with the rising of the dew. You'll
awake refreshed, having slept the night in a charming chalet graced
with antiques and treasures, and nestled in a mixed-wood forest.
Something about the clean fresh air will bring out your hunger for the
home-made meals. You'll enjoy your meals
in the Goldfinch Dining Lodge, built with colorful stained glass
windows.
You might start with an historical hike on Terratima land; trek to a homesteader's cabin, an old Indian gravesite, and Glacier Schoolhouse, built in the 1920s. Try fishing for the Brown Trout that swim in these waters. Go mountain biking through the trees and up the hills. Try your eagle eye at birding. Fly off for a helicopter tour up to a sub-alpine ridge. Discover the thrills of white water rafting and the historic color of voyageur canoeing.
At the day's end, your
group will meet in Terratima's gathering place lodge and bar,
Sees-the-Sun, which sits high above Prairie Creek. Sees-the-Sun is as
charming and hospitable as a small inn. A fieldstone fire- place warms
the main room, ideal for retreat-type meetings and intimate
conversation with friends. Soak up some sun on the expansive deck.
In the early evening, you'll take your seat for a memorable experience
in the fully licensed Goldfinch Dining Lodge, where three-course meals
are served in inimitable Terratima style. House specialties include
scallop-stuffed rainbow trout and choice cuts of Alberta beef done to
perfection. Herbs from Terratima's garden enhance the flavour of our
chefs creations.
After dinner, why not step outdoors for an evening stroll or a relaxing
soak in the hot tub, a perfect setting for star gazing through the tall
pines. We call Terratima a "forest lodge" and we know you'll agree it
truly is. Think of it as paradise found, a natural preserve with
civilized comforts.
Explore more than five thousand acres of forests and fields. Discover the hospitality and charm, the good life
that is Terratima, Terratima in summer.
